UNPRECEDENTED TIMES: An Evening with Malavika Kannan

In conversation with Sihaam Naik

What does it mean to come of age in a world shaped by a pandemic, climate crisis and the internet?

Join us at The Common Press Dalston for a special evening celebrating UNPRECEDENTED TIMES, the debut novel by NYC-based writer Malavika Kannan, published by Henry Holt & Co.

Described by critics as the first “Great American Gen Z novel” and praised by Vogue as a “pandemic novel with new bite”, UNPRECEDENTED TIMES follows a queer college freshman navigating love, identity and life during Covid-19.

A sharp and deeply personal portrait of a generation coming of age in extraordinary circumstances, the novel is also a love letter to mother-daughter relationships, female friendships and queer self-discovery.

Malavika will be joined in conversation by Sihaam Naik to explore queer coming-of-age stories, friendship, identity, climate anxiety and what it means to find your voice in an ever-changing world.

Join us to at for an special evening with the next generation of literary voices.

Books will be available to purchase on the night.
