What would a queer Bayeux look like? Who would be stitched into it? What stories would we refuse to leave out? What if the Bayeux Tapestry were rewritten by queer and trans hands?
For our 3rd anniversary, Queerlife Social returns to West End Arts Library, reimagining the Bayeux Tapestry as a queer, contemporary call to action. Inspired by the festival’s themes of Protest and Propaganda, we’ll explore how images shape power and how queer bodies can turn visibility into resistance.
Together, we’ll create a contemporary reinterpretation: a collective visual tapestry of drawings of queer and trans resistance, memory and hope for the future.
expect artists curating their own poses, costume, music and story, while guests draw, respond and build a shared visual narrative. This is not anatomy practice; it’s a space for queer representation and self‑determination is essential.
No experience needed. All materials provided. Come as you are, leave your mark, and help us stitch a new kind of queer history into the walls of West End Arts Library.
