Fade to Black

Less Networking. More Filmmaking.

Vandalist Media and Dreamy Mango Studios present Fade to Black - a short film collective happening monthly in Avondale!

Thank you to all of you who made it out last month! We're ready for our third event!

We’re showcasing a special screening of a short film we made and selecting a script to film from our script submission form!

This isn't your typical networking event. It's a space for Chicago filmmakers to meet collaborators, share ideas, with the goal of actually making short films.

From gritty thrillers to experimental narratives, we're building a community of creatives who value making films—not just talking about them. Whether you're an industry professional, an emerging filmmaker, or simply curious about getting involved, you're welcome here.

Come meet like-minded people, check out film showcases, hear our vision for what's next, and be part of a growing collective focused on bold, character-driven storytelling.

What to Expect:

🎬 Film showcases
🤝 Networking & collaboration
🎵 Music & good conversation

Limited capacity. Sliding-scale donations help support future events and productions.

Whether you made it to past events or you're new to the room—writers, actors, directors, and crew are all welcome.
