November is National Novel Writing Month. Whether you are starting on page one or untangling a messy middle, The Floor Drafts provides the structural roadmap and dedicated time to help you get more words down on the page.
Led by award-winning writer and MFA graduate Christine Kelly Ducey, this three-part constraint-based workshop skips the academic jargon and focuses strictly on momentum. Each 90-minute session maps directly to the crucial narrative beats of Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3.
What to expect each week:
The Roadmap: An expert breakdown of the week's required story beats (and how to make sure you’re hitting each one).
The Masters: Discover how masterful authors broke down the beats in their successful novels. Specifically, William Goldman in his 1973 classic, The Princess Bride.
The Sprint: 20 to 30 minutes of uninterrupted drafting to aggressively hit your word count.
The Salon: A supportive live-feedback close to share raw pages and build community momentum.
Bring any device, grab a seat on the floor of Nob Hill Yoga, and let's get the words down.
(Drop-ins welcome, but attending all three sessions is highly encouraged to maintain the pacing for your monthly goal!)
