AI and the Future of Creativity, Work, and Being Human
Over the past few years, generative AI has changed a familiar part of everyday life: the difficult, mundane, or simply unwanted task is increasingly optional. But when should we hand something over to AI, and when is it worth muddling through ourselves? This lecture explores what that question means for creativity, work, and daily life.
Matt Russell, Communications Leader and Generative AI Adoption Pioneer
Matt Russell is a senior communications leader and nationally recognized speaker on generative AI and its impact on how we think and work. He co-led the early adoption of generative AI in Mayo Clinic’s Communications Department, helping establish guidelines, training, and a community of super users. He subsequently played a role in advancing generative AI adoption at the University of Texas at Austin in fundraising and communications as co-leader of a generative AI community of practice.
He has presented to national and international audiences, including a master class at the International Association of Business Communicators World Conference, and has led numerous workshops for communications professionals. His work explores how AI can augment creativity, judgment, and strategic thinking while emphasizing the importance of responsible and sensible use.
