🔹 The exhibition of Bojko Mitkov – Boja titled “Confession of Love” will open on November 4th at 7 PM at Kuslev’s House. ➡️ MeetTheArtist | ✨ BOJKO MITKOV – BOJO Bojko Mitkov – Bojo (Studena, 1954) is a prominent contemporary Bulgarian sculptor, recognized for his easel and decorative-monumental bronze sculptures of deep humanism and unique artistic expression. He graduated in sculpture from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, in the class of Professor Ilija Iliev, and pursued further studies in Vienna. He was a guest lecturer at the Academy in Sofia and Vice President of the Managing Board of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. His style transcends the materiality of form. By following the natural lines and cracks of the metal, Mitkov opens up the volume of the sculpture, creating “windows” through which he invites the observer to step into the artwork itself. His body of work explores themes of Greek mythology, the passage of time, human community, and existential resistance. He spent a significant part of his artistic career in Austria and Switzerland, where he exhibited, collaborated on architectural projects, and led sculpture workshops. He participated in prestigious art fairs, including Art Basel, and held solo exhibitions in numerous European galleries. His “Metamorphosis” is part of the European Parliament’s Contemporary Art Collection in Brussels, while his works can also be found in the National Art Gallery in Sofia, the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, and numerous international collections. He marked seven decades of life with a jubilee international tour “Through Time,” continuing to explore the relationship between form, space, and time through bronze.
