Multi-award-winning trumpeter, composer, scholar and educator Robin Fassie has emerged as one of South Africa's most compelling voices in contemporary jazz. Revered for his expressive sound, lyrical improvisation and fearless musical curiosity, Robin continues to shape the country's evolving jazz landscape through boundary-crossing collaborations, international performances and a growing catalogue of acclaimed original work. Equally at home on concert stages, in recording studios and in educational spaces, his artistry bridges tradition and innovation with remarkable authenticity. Having performed and recorded with some of South Africa's most celebrated artists, Robin is a regular collaborator with Thandiswa Mazwai and Dr. Nduduzo Makhathini, while also having worked alongside artists including Black Coffee, Bokani Dyer, Zoe Modiga, Jullian Gomes and Shane Cooper. His career has taken him across Europe and Africa, earning recognition as the winner of Norway's prestigious Jazz i Sikte competition, a Metro FM Award nominee, and a featured performer on Grammy Award-winning and SAMA-nominated recordings. With the release of his acclaimed debut album Intwasa: The Becoming, Robin entered a defining new chapter as a composer and bandleader. The project established him as one of the most exciting creative forces of his generation, combining deeply rooted South African musical traditions with a contemporary global jazz language that is both sophisticated and emotionally resonant.

Whether performing with his quartet, leading his own projects or appearing alongside some of the country's most respected musical visionaries, Robin Fassie continues to push the boundaries of contemporary African jazz. For long-time followers, each performance reflects an artist in constant evolution; for new audiences, it is an invitation to experience one of South Africa's most distinctive and exciting musical voices at the forefront of a new generation.
