Grooves 17: Propulsion, Hickey, Tombs, Merlin, Renfer, Bisect [turntable-only, DnB & jungle]

After a short summer hiatus, we're back at Cu once again, this time with a whole host of fresh faces joining the lineup. We're chuffed to be having Propulsion play for us, who came to our attention via his impeccably mixed videos online where he's showcased the wealth of his DnB knowledge, drawing from his record collection spanning 1995-2010. Next up we've got Hickey, who's deeply passionate about the music and pushing the format with his all-vinyl night, ‘How It Started’. As a friend of Grooves it feels long overdue to get him down to play! Tombs smashed it out of the park on our Bacteria video mix-off, sending in a hefty double with Spor’s remix of Bullet Time. After that it was a no brainer to invite him down to play, he'll be blending a whole range of styles across his set to keep us on our toes. Bisect will be opening on the night, easing us in and setting the tone with an array of sounds. Hopefully it’s not too early for him to draw for a certain mix with Carrier… Following his recent 4.5 hour set at Four Quarters, Grooves resident Merlin will also be joining the bill, along with Renfer, with Ethics holding it down on hosting duties for the night.
