19 september, this was bound to happen, wasn’t it? how rude of us, to be a part of ann siang & not throw a party? very rude. how rude of us, to not invite our musically talented friends in to bend some minds, break some legs, put some smiles on your beautiful faces? very rude. let us correct that real quick. we’re stretching out 7 hours long, across both ARKIVE and The Coup for good music galore, and we’d love to have you here with us. chapter I: 830-11pm (outside ARKIVE Store, free of charge) live and direct from our homebase at ARKIVE Store, our radio homespot, with a downtempo session for the early heads looking to come through let the night unfold at their own pace. Suffyan and Kins are on warm-up duties for Revision Music's RTJ. with Kins, you’ll notice his love for experimentation between sounds after years of digging between singapore and jakarta, while Suffyan eases between ambient touches, soulful and the darker left-field curveballs. two different approaches, you’d think, but both built around knowing the room, the crowd and the moment. our headliner for chapter I of this night is none other than RTJ, someone we regard as a dear friend who’s been a longtime fixture of singapore’s music community. with years spent moving between dancefloors and record digs, his selections pull from dub, soul, jazz, broken beat, bass and electronica, connecting sounds from across southeast asia and beyond into one continuous thread. expect a proper journey through the records. chapter II; 11pm-330am  (at The Coup) Last Saturday's & our very own HZQ gets the night moving first across breaks, jungle, uk bassline, techno and whatever he chooses to conjure up in that room. used to the tailend sets of a night, this warm up slot lets him explore building a room, track by track, beat by beat. next up, Revision Music's one and only Helios XL, where do we even begin? smooth as it comes between between jungle, breakbeat, bass, leftfield techno and everything else that catches his ears -  from bars and restaurants to proper club floors, festivals and radio broadcasts around the world, his approach has always been about quality music first. when you think things couldn’t get any better, in steps Strangeweather & Zagareet's yetpet, bringing the fun and feral energy. expect sideways movement, mutant low-end, wormhole rhythms and plenty of sounds that refuse to behave themselves. rooted in local and regional selections but never afraid to wander off course, yetpet’s sets are made for getting lost in the room. question now is, are you ready to get lost with us? powered by the bad boys & gyals over at Upper Serangoon Soundsystem, we're in for a sesh. head over to our instagram for any further updates regarding the event.
