Resonance of Dub: DJ Sotofett & Ekowmania

Friday 13th of November 2026 – EKKO presents RESONANCE OF DUB at Østre, Bergen with DJ SOTOFETT & EKOWMANIA LIVE on the Sju Fjell Sound System!

Afro-Dub, Steppers and Digital Dub live set emphasizing DJ Sotofett's "in the mix" club-focused DJ perspective with the duo's exclusive music from acetate dubplates, and master drummer from Ghana – Ekowmania on vocals and live percussion.

«Resonance of Dub» was initially established as a concept in 2024 at Tresor in Berlin, a club concept for the spectrum of dub-resonating music: Steppers, Dubstep, Disco-Dub, Lovers Rock, Dub-Techno, Roots, Jungle and beyond. The concept was established to ultimately present Dub in a club setting while still emphasizing Sotofett's "in the mix," club-focused DJ perspective. «Resonance of Dub» is also a label and centers it's output around Sotofett's regular collaborators Ekowmania, Jimi Tenor and LNS - primarily presenting 12" and 7" vinyl releases.

Ekowmania aka Ekow Alabi Savage from Cape Coast, Ghana, is a master percussionist & drummer – one of the foremost living interpreters of West African rhythms, but also a songwriter and vocalist singing in Fanti and English. Ekowmania's collaboration with DJ Sotofett is presented as a live set on the «Resonance of Dub» nights. The Afro-Dub, Steppers and Digital Dub live set emphasizing DJ Sotofett's "in the mix" club-focused DJ perspective with the duo's exclusive music from acetate dubplates, and Ekowmania on vocals and live percussion. For this specialoccasio, theshow is played and dubbed live on the Sju Fjell Bergsystem.

«Dub blew my mind the first time I heard it and that explosion is still ringing in my ears» - and to this day I have clear memories of that very day in that very room we sat in Moss, Norway, for the first time listening to «Dub Me Crazy» by Mad Professor and the seminal Augustus Pablo «King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown». Dub is the crucial artery for all types of soundsystem and dance music. It extends to absolutely all Jungle tracks ever produced, as well as New York's dubby Disco's mixes and even Hip-Hop', or the reduction, frequencies and basslines of UK's Dubstep, Garage or Steppers, and not to forget Berlin's own creation of Dub-Techno.

«Resonance of Dub» has since 2024 featured Gilb'R (with his vinyl only Jungle sets), DJ Pete, Kambo Super Sound, LNS, ODJ TG (Sähkö Recordings), Arthur (Duty Free Merger), as well as Angela Zia (live Lovers Rock vocals) and Ekowmania (live vocals and percussion). In Bristol the annual Resonance of Dub shows at venue Strange Brew are always presented on the Qualitex Sound System. The Japan editions are presented at forestlimit (Tokyo) and Chika-Ikkai (Osaka) in collaboration with ßetamax TYO and Naminohana Records featuring Element (Live), Akii, Siva (Live), 109taksea, and Viceman. – DJ Sotofett, October 2026
