Kito Jempere is the alias of Kirill Sergeev, a Saint Petersburg-born electronic musician, DJ, producer, composer and cultural curator.
For more than two decades, he has been exploring the intersections of underground club culture, experimental electronics and leftfield pop,developing a distinctive musical universe of his own.
With releases on internationally acclaimed labels including DFA Records, Mule Musiq, Hell, Yeah Recordings, Lo Recordings and Freerange Records, Kito has established a singular sound that defies genre boundaries. His productions have received support from BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1, NTS and Tim Sweeney’s Beats in Space.
His international performances have taken him across Europe, the United States, Japan and the Middle East, with appearances at renowned platforms and festivals including Boiler Room and Present Perfect. Over the years, his music has been remixed by an impressive roster of artists, including Palms Trax, Ewan Pearson, Samo DJ, Black Spuma (Fabrizio Mammarella & Lauer) and Eden Burns, among others.
A natural collaborator, Kito has worked with an eclectic circle of international artists, including Jimi Tenor, Lipelis, Hard Ton and Rich Thair of Red Snapper. Through projects such as Kito Jempere Band and his own label, Kito Jempere Recordings, he has consistently explored the intersection of electronic music, live instrumentation, improvisation and performance.
Beyond the studio and the DJ booth, Kito is an active cultural curator and creative director, bringing together artists, music communities and independent cultural spaces.
His work extends from the underground scene of Saint Petersburg to international cultural projects in Dubai, where he holds an ongoing residency at Honeycomb Hi-Fi and is involved in curating Sandy Times Radio.
His relationship with Japan holds a special place in his artistic journey. Following the release of Infinite Azure on the legendary Japanese label Mule Musiq in 2025, Kito has continued to deepen his connections with Japan's independent music community, record culture and audiences.
His sixth studio album, Other People’s Aesthetics, released on 13 November 2026, brings together more than two decades of musical influences — from house and techno to the experimental worlds of Aphex Twin, Warp and Ninja Tune — into a deeply personal and boundary-crossing vision of contemporary electronic music.
For Kito Jempere, DJing is about much more than playing records. It is about connecting musical histories, unexpected discoveries and people on the dancefloor — creating a
