Sunscreem return to London for first

capital gig in 25 years

Nineties dance pioneers Sunscreem will play Camden’s Dublin Castle on October 16,

marking their first London performance in 25 years.

The Essex-based band, who came to prominence during the early rave and club scene

alongside acts including The Prodigy and The Shamen, are rounding off a busy year of live

dates with this rare full-band London show.

Sunscreem signed to Sony Music in 1991 and went on to achieve major international success,

including US 1 chart records with tracks such as Love U More and Pressure. In the UK,

they are perhaps best known for the dance classic Perfect Motion, while their catalogue has

produced 12 UK chart singles.

The band also developed a particularly strong following in Scotland, where they were

awarded Best Scottish Dance Band — despite hailing from Essex.

Sunscreem are centred around singer-songwriter Lucia Holm and keyboardist Paul Carnell.

While the pair have continued to perform around the world since their 1990s success, full-

band appearances have become increasingly rare.

“It’s difficult getting everyone in one place, so Camden will be a special gig,” says Carnell.

“We’re lucky to work with great musicians but it does mean they’re always in demand.”

The band began 2026 with a tour of Australia and have since played sell-out shows across the

UK and Europe. The Dublin Castle date will be their final performance before they return to

the studio to record a new album, scheduled for release in 2027.
