DJ Hype toca por primera vez en Argentina: +160 Drum and Bass Suite festeja sus 24 años con una fecha al aire libre y al atardecer en La Nube, Costanera Norte, Buenos Aires.
Pionero del Jungle y del Drum and Bass, Hype arrancó en los 80 en Hackney, Londres, como DJ de Heatwave, el sound system de PJ y Smiley, que después serían Shut Up and Dance. "Nadie podía hacer lo que hacía Hype", recuerda PJ. Desde la radio pirata Fantasy FM vivió el día cero del Jungle, y en 1996 fundó Playaz, el sello que este año cumple 30 y por el que pasaron DJ Hazard, Netsky y el paulista Dunk, que ya tocó en nuestras fiestas.
Suma más de 20 premios, casi dos décadas de residencia en Fabric y un lugar en el Salón de la Fama del Drum and Bass desde 2010. "Era un DJ completo", dice DJ Marky.

DJ Hype plays Argentina for the first time: +160 Drum and Bass Suite celebrates 24 years with an open-air sunset session at La Nube, Costanera Norte, Buenos Aires.
A pioneer of Jungle and Drum and Bass, Hype started out in 1980s Hackney, London, as the DJ for Heatwave, the sound system run by PJ and Smiley, later Shut Up and Dance. "You couldn't do what Hype was doing," PJ recalls. From pirate station Fantasy FM he was there on day zero of Jungle, and in 1996 he founded Playaz, the label now turning 30, home to DJ Hazard, Netsky and São Paulo's Dunk, who has already smashed it at our parties.
Over 20 awards, almost two decades of residency at Fabric and a place in the Drum&BassArena Awards Hall of Fame since 2010. "He was just a complete DJ," says DJ Marky.
At La Nube he brings his signature sound: dubplates, jump-up, cuts and live scratching.
