Telling the stories of our Irish queer ancestors!
Intro:
I do archival research to tell the stories of our Irish queer ancestors. The idea that queerness is in any way new or modern is complete bullshit, so I work with artists to publish my archival research of historical love under my imprint Love&Nothing.
Showcase
A 75min blended talk/workshop on queer histories and epistemologies with an Irish focus
Key workshop aspect: attendees to be invited to respond to their perception of the oldest queer person in their life. Printed materials of archival love in the space, constructed in album-type formats with accompanying narratives from my archival research. Tied in with book launch!
Talk: Myself/Kate (trying to do academic work about Love, which "isn’t an acceptable metric"), Lorna (MA in Irish nationalist typography) and Orlá (ceramicist interested in our lives in the context of geological time) discussing our effort to claim lineage through design and writing.
