Pumping Velvet x Handclap: Cleyra, Jaye Ward, SPRKLBB

Handclap and Pumping Velvet are teaming up once more: this time heading east, and to pastures new, in the company of some esteemed guests.

Jaye Ward is an acid house veteran: over four decades she's carved out a singular path playing weird and wonky music of all flavours. Jaye is no stranger to dimly lit basements with big sound, so is perfectly placed to guide us through the opening hours with a heady mix of psychedelic dub, deep house and spaced out disco.

Taking us through the peak of the night, SPRKLBB is an all-vinyl DJ with an improvisational sound that’s equal parts deep, playful, and ecstatic. A mentee of NYC house royalty The Carry Nation, his Spaghetti Strap party champions boundary-pushing music at the forefront of New York’s queer scene.

Rounding off the night, Cleyra’s sub-heavy experimental techno has found home on Batu’s Timedance imprint, but they are equally versed in emotionally-charged house music. Having long been one of Bristol’s best kept secrets, we are lucky to now count them as one of our own here in London, and to have them taking us through the small hours.

Tickets available via RA and gel.
Proceeds from the party donated to The Outside Project.
