FULL CYCLE invites 'The Art of Sound' by Groove Atelier

On Saturday 14 November, Groove Atelier debuts ‘The Art of Sound’ at The Other Side as part of the venue’s immersive live concert series FULL CYCLE.

The programme begins in the afternoon with a series of listening sessions, talks and artist-led presentations hosted by Cosmic Bride. Binkbeats will present ‘OHM’, an immersive listening session followed by a Q&A, while Chagall will lead ‘Meeting the Goddess’, a show-and-tell exploring her creative practice. PORTRAIT XO will present ‘The Cost of Connection’, a process talk exploring her creative practice. The day programme, running from 13:00 to 17:00, will open with a meditation by Nino Basilashvili.

The evening is led by Dutch harpist and composer Remy van Kesteren, whose audiovisual performance, accompanied by visuals from Jurjen Alkema, takes the harp beyond its traditional setting through electronics, rhythm and unconventional approaches to the instrument. Alongside Remy van Kesteren, the evening programme will also feature an experimental collaboration between Amsterdam-based kemenche player and composer Emine Bostanci and performer and composer Saba Alizadeh.

Rotterdam-based composer and vocalist Cosmic Bride presents a special performance marking the release of her new EP ‘Hidden Gem’, in which voice, harp and spatial electronics move through the room like celestial bodies in orbit. DELICAT will close the evening with a vinyl DJ set.

All performances throughout the programme will be presented in spatial audio, making use of The Other Side’s immersive sound system.
