デリック・メイ（Derrick May）は、アメリカ・ミシガン州デトロイト出身の電子音楽ミュージシャン、DJ、レコードプロデューサーであり、ホアン・Derrick May, born April 6, 1963, in Detroit, Michigan, is an American electronic music pioneer, DJ, and record producer. Alongside his high school friends Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, collectively known as "The Belleville Three," May is universally recognized as one of the founding fathers of Detroit Techno.
His revolutionary sound, which bridged the gap between European electronic body music (such as Kraftwerk) and African-American funk and disco, was famously dubbed by May himself as "High-Tech Soul."
