Blazej Malinowski scores silent films. His "Why So Silent?" series pairs forgotten cinema with live electronic music, built so the images follow the sound instead of the reverse, and the same instinct runs through his DJing: long arcs, patient tension, a floor moved over hours rather than minutes. The Warsaw native came up in the early 2000s and started releasing in 2012, landing records on Svreca's Semantica, Claudio PRC's 012, and The Gods Planet, three labels working the deeper, stranger end of techno. He runs his own imprint, Inner Tension, and kept his residency at Warsaw's Jasna 1 after moving to Berlin, where Tresor is among the rooms that book him. October 18 brings the same pitch-black, psychedelic weight to the Nest.
