Long Play: Floating Points

Long Play: Floating Points is a night dedicated to exploring two moments in Sam Shepherd’s extensive catalogue: Elaenia (2015) and Cascade (2024). We’ll start with the expansive, orchestral textures of Elaenia followed by the hypnotic, club-focused pulse of Cascade. These two records reveal different sides of Floating Points: spacious and contemplative, then dark, rhythmic and immersive. Alongside selections during the intro and break, the night offers a chance to experience the range, detail and emotional depth that moves between intricate club music, ambient electronics, jazz, and contemporary classical. La Posta is a long time supporter and enthusiast of Toronto’s underground dance scene going back to the 90s. She’s a hobbyist DJ with a love for house, techno, ambient, experimental and global sounds.
