Deli Girls

On Wednesday 23rd September, NYC-based digi-punk trio Deli Girls headline Ormside. Fronted by Dan Orlowski (Nu Jazz), the group gained widespread notoriety with 2019’s ‘I Don’t Know How To Be Happy’ – a visceral collision of harsh noise, industrial, and the harder edges of rave. Grounded in anti-authoritarian politics, Deli Girls blur the line between performance and protest. Playing street rallies and venues alike, their music mobilises physical solidarity, highlighting social injustices and emboldening civil unrest. Touring their new album ‘Losing State’ (Industrial Strength Records), the group launch their EU tour at Ormside as a live trio. Joining them on support is London-based Taiwanese noise artist En Creux (Lucia H. Chung). Working with no-input mixing, Chung is a master of increments – pushing the limits of audio signal within a closed-loop feedback system. Walking the line between sensitive textures and punishing low-end, we look forward to hearing what she does with the club soundsystem.
