Change the Beat lands in London for a full day and night at fabric, bringing together some of the electronic music industry’s leading artists, labels, agencies, promoters, and organizations for an event dedicated to education, connection, representation, and music. With a mission to create more opportunities for women and underrepresented artists in electronic music, Change the Beat London is open to everyone - bringing the wider electronic music community together to learn, connect, and celebrate. Taking place Thursday, October 15, the event begins with an afternoon of industry panels designed to give emerging artists real-world insight into building a career in electronic music - from getting booked as a DJ and signing music to leading dance labels, to securing management and agency representation. From 7PM, Change the Beat presents its traveling Women Who Shaped Electronic Music photo exhibition and industry mixer, celebrating the groundbreaking women who have helped shape electronic music culture. The mixer will feature DJ sets from Not Bad for a Girl, Pete Tong DJ Academy, and N1NJA. The exhibition honours artists including Sister Bliss (Faithless), Annie Mac, Smokin Jo, DJ Paulette, Lottie, Lisa Lashes, Nicole Moudaber, Maya Jane Coles, Ultra Naté, Honey Dijon, Sam Divine, Ida Engberg, ANNA, DJ Rap, Crystal Waters, Eli & Fur, DJ Minx, Misstress Barbara, and Superjane. The exhibition honours artists including Sister Bliss (Faithless), Annie Mac, Smokin Jo, DJ Paulette, Lottie, Lisa Lashes, Nicole Moudaber, Maya Jane Coles, Ultra Naté, Honey Dijon, Sam Divine, Ida Engberg, ANNA, DJ Rap, Crystal Waters, Eli & Fur, DJ Minx, Misstress Barbara, and Superjane. The night then moves on to the dancefloor with a club lineup featuring TSHA, Kitty Amor, Emily Nash, Sydney Blu, and N1NJA. Participating organizations and education partners include Women in Music UK, Beatport, AFEM, HE.SHE.THEY, Pete Tong DJ Academy, AlphaTheta, The Everyday Agency, Not Bad for a Girl, Crossfader, and Point Blank.
