Doyenne Books presents the album launch and London debut of Copenhagen-based artist Matilda Tjäder's new 'SHELF LIFE' LP, featuring a live ensemble of flautist Angelina Petrovic, and singer Thibaut Knapp. Based on Tjäder’s eponymous short story adapted for the stage as Shelf Life: An Opera, created in collaboration with Mathias Tang, Penny Yiou Peng, and Thibaut Knapp, and premiered at Inkonst, Malmö (SE) in September, 2025. The enigmatic performance duo, Rat Section, known for their unpredictable antics will be DJing alongside a live performance from Alcyoni (London artist Bianca Chu) - informed by her ongoing study of dhrupad / mantra, drone (harmonium, tanpura) and field recordings accompanied by live visuals by artist & collaborator Sammy Lee. The evening opens with a screening of artist/filmmaker Cecilia Condit's 80s film 'Possibly in Michigan' - an operatic fairy tale of cannibalism, desire and dread in Middle America.
