SPIN CITY by Cannibal Radio

SPIN CITY by Cannibal Radio | SKG Special

Spin City is Cannibal Radio's new hip hop series, turning the spotlight on the DJs, turntablists and producers who shape the sound of hip hop scenes in the cities and neighbourhoods where they are born and grow.

Hip hop is not only what happens in front of the mic. Behind every scene there are DJs, turntablists and producers who select, produce, mix and ultimately shape how an entire city sounds. With 18 years of history around DJing and contemporary music culture, Cannibal Radio launches Spin City to document these stories through radio shows, interviews, editorial content, video and events.

FIRST STOP: THESSALONIKI

A city with a strong musical identity, from Trypes and Mora Sti Fotia to Reworks and a contemporary hip hop scene that has grown into a nationwide presence in recent years. Through its studios, DJs and producers, Thessaloniki keeps producing a sound of its own and its own way of seeing music and the city.

For Cannibal Radio, Thessaloniki is more than the first choice for the project. It is a city we already share a bond with: friends, collaborations, artists and common musical references. Spin City: SKG Special is the start of an effort to get closer to this scene, listen to its people and document what is happening in its neighbourhoods today.
