Tausend House: Dilby

Dilby returns to Bar Tausend, bringing deep house with warmth, weight and plenty of personality. Originally from New Zealand and based in Berlin since 2012, the DJ and producer combines classic house influences with a modern sound, keeping melody and groove at the heart of his music.

His catalogue includes releases on Saved, 8bit, Bondage Music, Toolroom and Glasgow Underground, while “Remember Me” reached No.1 on Beatport’s Deep House chart. Rich basslines, memorable hooks and carefully layered percussion have become signatures of a sound that works as well through headphones as it does on a busy dancefloor.

Beyond his own productions, Dilby is also shaping a platform for new music as co-founder of Narratives. His recent release “Confusion”, made with Amine K, brings that label’s approach into focus through driving house rhythms and an uplifting vocal hook. He has also joined forces with Danny Howells for “Flyover / Soul Drive” on Selador, adding another collaboration to his growing catalogue.

His range is captured in “Déepalma Spotlight: Dilby,” a collection of 17 productions that includes “Lift Me Up” with nineteen79. From deeper late-night tracks to more energetic house cuts, the compilation connects musical detail with a direct feel for movement.
