'Last Movies' offers an alternative perspective on the first century of cinema, based on the films watched by some of its most prominent stars shortly before (or at the time of) their deaths. Among them are John F. Kennedy, Bette Davis, Kurt Cobain and the members of the Heaven’s Gate religious cult. Last Movies is a multidisciplinary project comprising a series of screenings at the ICA (2024), a book published by Tenement Press (2023) and a feature-length film currently touring festivals, scheduled for release in 2027 and narrated by Jeremy Irons.
For Real No Real, Schtinter presents a long-duration performance combining a screening and a lecture, specifically adapted from his recent presentation at the Portuguese Pavilion at the Venice Biennale.
Made possible with the support of Ayuntamiento de Madrid.
