Toki-O Nights: Powered by Technics (Tony Higgins)

On the 7th October, Mad Cats hosts the next edition of Toki-O Nights, a free to attend listening bar series inspired by Japan’s kissaten culture. Next up is Tony Higgins. Tony is a London-based DJ, vinyl collector, music historian and specialist reissue consultant. Tony has been collecting records for over 40 years, with a collection that spans an impressive range! Most notably, Tony has been working on the J Jazz project with BBE Music since 2018, digging into the Japanese post-war period, curating multiple J Jazz compilations, bringing rare Japanese recordings back into circulation. With hi-fi sound from Technics and Toki Highballs served throughout the evening, Toki-O Nights channels the slower, more intentional atmosphere of Japanese listening bar culture.
