About Oh, Mary! Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre, London is a dark comedy by Cole Escola, directed by Sam Pinkleton. It follows a miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, with unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires driving the story. Written as an 80-minute one-act play, it was described by The New York Times as one of the best comedies in years. The production won Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton). The London transfer brings together Mason Alexander Park, Kate O’Donnell, Oliver Stockley, Dino Fetscher and Giles Terera. Running time: 1 hour 20 minutes with no intermission.
