About The Oresteia The Oresteia at the Bridge Theatre in London is Simon Stone’s contemporary reworking of a Greek myth. Stone is an acclaimed Australian theatre and film director, known for radical reimaginings of classic works including Yerma and Phaedra, and for The Lady from the Sea at the Bridge Theatre last year. The production follows a contemporary family waking up inside a Greek myth and unable to find a way out of its hellish destiny. It brings Stone’s modern approach to a story rooted in fate, violence and family conflict. Simon Stone continues to make the Bridge Theatre his London home with this production.
