For much of our history, we considered ourselves the smartest inhabitants of the planet, destined to rule all others. But today one species after another proves to be smarter than expected, and we gradually understand that each animal is smart in its own unique way. The abilities that were supposed to make us special – complex language, abstract thinking – are not as unique as we thought and are easily reproduced by machines. Apparently, the only thing that truly separates us from animals is our ability to destroy ourselves and the world around us.

Please note that this talk is in-person only.
