Spin-based quantum devices harnessing nitrogen-vacancy centres in diamond offer room temperature access to quantum phenomena and high degree of control over electronic and nuclear spins. I will present our latest results on nanoscale, microkelvin resolution thermometry and its potential applications to life sciences.1-3 I will also highlight how the diamond platform can be used to simulate complex many-body dynamics and present a platform that allows us to study fundamental quantum thermodynamics phenomena.4-5
