Making room Film screening with accompanying music | Live sound and visual performance Hosted by TYOY and PEETI FILM A twilight screening of two short films by “ Phassarawin Kulsomboon ”. Live music and visual performances by the contemporary artist collective “ TYOY ”. About Music : The performance will immerse the audience in new compositions that blend sound and visual to convey abstract emotions. A key highlight of the event is the screening of two short films accompanied by musical score. What makes this performance interesting is its focus on blending traditional concepts with the contemporary approaches—such as playing the guitar like a percussion instrument and integrating Thai instruments with 21st-century musical ideas—as well as the interaction between sounds and digital visuals. About Film : These two short films aim to advance documentary storytelling techniques by utilizing moving images and on-screen text rather than traditional verbal narration. This approach allows audiences from diverse linguistic backgrounds to connect with the films through visual pacing, text, gesture, spatial elements, and live music. The films are conceived as a parallel two-part narrative—or a "diptych"—where each piece stands independently yet gains deeper resonance when presented together. The first film, “ My Dad and Our Dead ”, portrays the daily lives of a Myanmar family (father, mother, and child) and their colleagues living at a construction site. It explores the irony of a situation where these individuals build permanent spaces for others, while their own homes remain merely temporary dwellings. The second film, “ Exper Exist Expire ”, is a poetic distillation of the documentary project “The Experimentive”—a work that received screenwriting funding from the Thailand Creative and Cultural Agency (THACCA). It reconfigures footage of performances alongside still images of locations, equipment, and people to explore how the experimental music community forms, is remembered, and endures. Another artistic inspiration lies in drawing connections between contemporary independent works in Thailand and the traditions of experimental film, live cinema, and multidisciplinary performance across Asia. Artist lineup: TYOY Teerus Laohverapanich (saxophone) Minami Takei (percussions) Ittikorn Tuchmalee (violoncello) Sukrit Chomsawat (drum set) Parames Boonroungkaw (percussions / electric bass) Palindroma (visual art) Short films by “ Phassarawin Kulsomboon Date: Sat, 14th November 2026 Time: 6:30 pm. onwards Location: Goethe Saal, Goethe-Institut Thailand Tickets: Early bird: 450 ฿ (limited seats) | Regular: 550 ฿ | At Door: 650 ฿ Contact: | [email protected] Facebook: TYOY | PEETI FILM
