Maitri Chit Project w/ Tornado Wallace & Hidden Spheres

Maitri Chit Project at Bar Temp. returns with Berlin-based Tornado Wallace and Manchester’s Hidden Spheres. Tornado Wallace came up at the front of Melbourne’s new wave of dance producers and now spends most of the year in Berlin. Early records for ESP Institute and Beats In Space, from Thinking Allowed to the acid two-tracker Kangaroo Ground/Ferntree Gully, led to a 12" for Music From Memory sister label Second Circle and his debut album Lonely Planet on Gerd Janson’s Running Back. Back home he ran the C Grade and Animals Dancing parties with Otologic, and the pair later formed Coober Pedy University Band. This year he returned to Running Back with Left At Sunset, three tracks of warm after-hours house led by Asahi Ga Yondeiru with Courtney Bailey. Hidden Spheres makes house rooted in Detroit and years of digging through soul records. An early EP on Moods & Grooves put him on a label shared with Theo Parrish and Andrés. He has since become a Rhythm Section regular, with further releases on Dirt Crew and his own label Fruit Merchant. His Public Records residency shaped this year’s Primitive Needs EP, and Dreaming, a four-track 12" for Freiburg’s Smallville, lands in December. With support from Brent Burns & Sarayu.
