ALTERNA

ALTERNA is a psytrance/electronic music concept and event series stemming from the creative forces in Malaysia's underground scene. It represents a specialized underground gathering spotlighting psychedelic music, flow culture, and neon streetwear/visual aesthetics. 🌌 The Core Collaborators • Acid Malaya: A highly recognized Malaysian creative collective and festival merchandise brand founded in 2020. They specialize in professional blotter art, psychedelia art, UV string installations, projection mapping, and neon festival streetwear. They act as the visual and cultural anchor for these gatherings, turning venues into immersive, trippy ecosystems. • Appledom (and Friends): Representing the musical side of the underground electronic scene (often associated with collectives like Omnisync). Appledom is a key DJ and producer known for steering crowds through genres spanning Melodic House, Progressive Trance, and heavy Progressive Psytrance. 🎛️ Event Vibe & Atmosphere When Acid Malaya joins forces with Appledom and friends for an ALTERNA or similar "psy call" project, it results in a fully experiential indoor/outdoor subcultural gathering: • The Soundscape: Curated heavy basslines, fast tempos, and hypnotic rhythms typical of progressive psytrance and underground trance subgenres. • The Visuals: Acid Malaya transforms the venue using specialized blacklight/UV-reactive tapestry, custom string art installations, and reactive projection mapping. • Community Experience: Beyond just a rave, these collaborations focus heavily on building a community of flow artists, underground music heads, and local fashion enthusiasts sharing "good vibes" across borders.
