Formed in South Jakarta in 2016, Reality Club began with a simple shared ambition: to start a band. Despite barely knowing one another at the time, the connection came naturally, and over the past decade, they’ve grown into one of Southeast Asia’s most emotionally resonant indie acts. Their 2017 debut Never Get Better introduced the world through jangly indie rock and raw adolescent heartache, Where Will Life Take You? expanded their palette into mature lyricism and eclectic instrumentation, moving between moody masslines, delicate melodies and chaotic walls of noise. Across their records, the band’s collective influences meet in dreamy soundscapes, soaring guitars and intimate storytelling that have reached listeners far beyond their beginnings in Jakarta. Reality Club turns life’s worries into something you can sit with, letting uncertainties and unexpected twists take shape through shifting textures, carried by the hazy, layered sound that has come to define the band.
