Michael Mayo SOLO - Alcazar Live

Composer, arranger, and above all a virtuoso vocalist, Michael Mayo is only the third vocalist in history to be accepted into the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance (now renamed after Herbie Hancock) in the program's 20-year history. Having performed alongside artists like Ben Wendel, Scary Pockets, Kneebody, Gretchen Parlato, Christian Sands, and Becca Stevens, his creativity and flawless technique have earned unanimous praise from his peers. He even joined his mentor Herbie Hancock on tour.

The American singer captivates audiences, transitioning with effortless ease from big band standards and intimate acoustic settings to his own experimental compositions, where he uses a loop pedal to push the boundaries of improvisation. With Bones, a deeply personal, ambitious, and polished debut album blending soul, jazz, R&B, and hip-hop, Michael Mayo proves he possesses one of the most talented and versatile voices of his generation.
