DevFest Ireland is the Irish Google Developer Groups' annual conference, run jointly by the GDG chapters around the country and hosted this year by GDG Dublin at the National College of Ireland on Mayor Street. Tech talks and deep dives across AI, Cloud, Web and mobile, hands-on workshops with mentors on hand, a diversity and inclusion track, and a social afterwards.
Organised by Carolina Cobo (Workday), Silvia Choque, Mariana Alves and Suhani Chawla (HubSpot). 9am to 6.30pm on the Saturday. A small ticket fee covers food and drink, with student and jobseeker discounts; the detailed schedule and speaker list were not published at the time of listing. 203 people had RSVP'd.
Why go: it is the largest community-run developer conference in the country and the one day a year the Irish GDG chapters are all in one building, which makes it the cheapest way to meet engineers from outside your own stack. Best for working developers and anyone early in a dev career.
