Who owns knowledge? Citizen Science, Data, and the future of AI

A role-play workshop on who owns data, run by The Data Tank with the European Citizen Science Association as part of Berlin Science Week, at the Museum für Naturkunde.
After a short warm-up everyone takes a role — citizen, researcher, startup, city government or AI company — and negotiates through scenarios running from community environmental monitoring to AI training datasets: who owns the data, who gets access, who gets credit, and what breaks when a project scales. The arguments then feed a fireside chat with people working on European data governance and research infrastructures, and it closes with networking and drinks. No data or policy background needed.
Free, 16:45 to 19:00, in English. Two of the three ticket releases were already showing sold out.
Why go: if you collect or train on public data, this is a cheap way to hear the objections before a regulator or a community makes them. Best for AI founders and data leads; skip it if you want a lecture.
