The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications Presidential Address, hosted by the Royal Irish Academy on Dawson Street. Dr Heather Tewkesbury, the IMA's 2026-27 President, gives the lecture; she is former CEO and now Chief of Strategic Relationships at the Smith Institute, and has served on the Executive Board of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences and as a Trustee of the Operational Research Society. A panel of Ireland-based speakers follows, not yet named.

The lecture starts at 18:00 with a reception from 19:30. Free. Note the Eventbrite listing gives an end time of 19:30 while naming a 19:30 reception on the same page.

Why go: Tewkesbury's working life is getting mathematics out of research and into industry decisions, which is the useful version of this talk. Good for data and modelling people who want the argument for their own work, and for anyone hiring quantitative researchers.
