Allison Young is the Integrated Resources Program Manager at San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. She manages the stewardship of the park’s incredible natural and cultural resources. Her division ensures the protection of these resources through advocacy for best practices in preservation, compliance with federal law and policy, support for research and scholarship and strategic partnerships focused on landscape-scale stewardship. She leads a passionate team of resource specialists, including a Museum Curator, a Biologist, an Outdoor Recreation Planner and a Historical Landscape Architect. Allison is passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of resource stewards. Her program provides youth with internship opportunities that expose them to new career paths and professional development.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, Allison holds a B.A. in Archaeology and History (2010) from the College of Wooster and an M.A. in Anthropology, specializing in Professional Archaeology (2013), from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She began her career with the National Park Service in 2011 as a student intern at the Midwest Archaeological Center and climbed the ladder to a term Archaeologist position during her time there. She accepted her first permanent position in 2013 as Park Archaeologist at Ozark National Scenic Riverways in southeast Missouri. In 2019, she accepted the first regional Section 106 Coordinator position for the National Capital Region in Washington, D.C. In her time there, she developed a program that supported and trained park staff in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Allison relocated to San Antonio in 2023 to join the team at San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.
