Title: Optimal control of harvesting in fishery models

Abstract: Management of fishery models will be presented with ordinary differential and partial differential equations. In one example, optimal control techniques to design time varying harvest rates of anchovy stock will be illustrated in a food chain system of differential equations for the Turkish coast of the Black Sea, using landing data. Other examples will show applications in systems of parabolic partial differential equations and illustrate the emergence of marine reserves.
