The Stanford Cancer Institute Breakthroughs in Cancer seminar series provides a platform for eminent leaders in oncology to share their insights with the Stanford community. Seminars highlight innovations across basic, translational, clinical, and population cancer science. Join the Stanford Cancer Institute on Tuesday, October 13, 4-5 p.m., at Alway M106, Alway Building, or via Zoom, for a presentation by Nancy Keating, MD, MPH, Professor of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Keating is a physician-scientist who researches provider, patient, and health system factors that influence cancer care delivery. She is evaluating the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service's Oncology Care Model and is a longstanding member of the NCI-funded Cancer Care Outcomes Research and Surveillance, which examines colorectal and lung cancer care and outcomes. She is an associate editor at the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and has served on the American Society of Clinical Oncology Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee. Her presentation will explore the need to improve the quality, access, and affordability of oncology care and the impact of key policies and delivery system changes. The event is open to Stanford faculty, trainees, students, and staff. Registration is encouraged.
