Join us at House of Annetta to celebrate the release of Deep Beauty, The Lissome’s sixth print edition, and ten years of The Lissome.

What does it mean to reclaim beauty today? In a world saturated with images and manufactured desire, beauty has become closely associated with standardized appearances and consumption. Yet its significance reaches far beyond what meets the eye.

More than a century ago, the artist, writer and socialist William Morris argued that beauty belonged at the heart of everyday life, inseparable from how we work and live. It lives in our relationship to nature, in the things we create and care for, in moments of connection and wonder. At a time of ecological breakdown, fragmented attention and profound technological change, his ideas feel newly relevant. What could become possible if we took beauty seriously again? As a way of expanding our perception, sharpening our discernment and imagining worlds beyond the one we know?

Inspired by the new issue, the evening brings together contributors and kindred voices for readings, conversations, visual storytelling and shared experiences. Together, we’ll explore beauty in its many dimensions, from the intimate and sensory to the cultural and political.

There will also be time to meet, exchange ideas, share a drink, discover the new edition and celebrate the community that has grown around The Lissome over the past decade.

We’d love you to join us!

Tickets:To help cover the costs of organising the evening, we’re inviting guests to make a small contribution. Tickets start at £5, with a suggested contribution of £10 for those who can give a little more. A £24 ticket includes admission and a copy of Deep Beauty. We want this gathering to be accessible to everyone. If the ticket price is a barrier, please get in touch – we’d love you to join us.
