Sound comes from bodies, materials and space.

In this hands-on workshop, you'll tune into the world around you, from the rhythm of a hand striking a surface to the texture of everyday noise. Working with found materials, you'll discover how ordinary objects or yourselves become sonic tools, then bring those discoveries together in a collective performance where the audience shapes the space as much as the sound.

Led by artist Alberto Anhaus, whose practice spans percussion, noise, organic decomposition and the relationship between sound and space, this session invites you to listen differently, play without rules and create a symphony together.

Workshop Outcomes

Participants explore methods of deep listening and exploring materials

Participants get opportunities to develop personal set of sounds and gestures and experience building a collective performance from scratch

Participants achieve the ability to create deep awareness of space and audience as compositional elements

Each participant are encouraged to bring the following items:

A device for recording and playing sounds (e.g. smartphone, laptop)

A battery-powered object that moves or vibrates, such as a toothbrush, an e-bug or an old toy.

A portable object that makes a sound reminding you of something from your past. It can be anything.

A sound sample at max. 30 seconds, recorded with your smartphone or with your laptop, which have some sort of sonic meaning for you (it can be the sound of the birds or the sound of cars etc.)
