A slow afternoon of light, nature and creating something of your own.

Life can get a little busy. Between work, responsibilities and the endless things on our minds, we don't always make space to simply slow down.

Join us at Little Saturday Room for a gentle, hands-on introduction to cyanotype printing, an alternative photographic process that uses light to create beautiful blue-and-white botanical prints.

For 2 hours, put aside the to-do lists and quiet the noise. Experiment with leaves, flowers, shapes and shadows, get curious, and enjoy the simple pleasure of making something with your hands.

There is no need to be artistic, and nothing needs to be perfect. Just come as you are, take your time, and see what unfolds.

🌿 A little time for yourself. A little room to create.

☀️ What is cyanotype?

Cyanotype, also known as sun printing, is one of the earliest photographic printing processes. Light-sensitive paper is exposed to UV light with objects or photographic negatives placed on its surface. Once rinsed, the paper reveals striking blue-and-white images where light and shadows meet.

The magic lies in the unexpected details. The delicate veins of a leaf, the silhouette of a flower, or the beautiful imperfections that make each print unique.

No two compositions need to be alike, and every print is an opportunity to slow down, observe and experiment.

🌱 What we'll be doing

During this beginner-friendly session, you'll be guided through the process of creating your own cyanotype prints, from arranging your composition to revealing your finished artwork.

✨ Create A5 or A6 cyanotype prints on paper, using botanical materials, found objects or photographic negatives. Participants typically complete between 3 - 5 prints within the session.

🌿 Experiment with light and shadows using leaves, flowers, photo negatives and other provided materials.

💙 Enjoy a mindful creative process in a relaxed, welcoming space, with no pressure to get things right.

🖼️ Take home an A5 floating photo frame, ready to showcase a favourite print from your session.

All materials are provided. Simply arrive with an open mind and a little curiosity.
