What Makes an AI Micro-Drama Go Global?

What makes a story work beyond the audience it was originally made for?
Short-form vertical dramas are reaching audiences across different markets, with generative AI making it increasingly possible for small teams to move quickly from an idea to something watchable.
But generating the content is only part of the challenge. A story still needs a hook, characters people care about and an understanding of who it is being made for.
Join us for a hands-on session with the MO2 team. Work in a crew, take on a target market and experiment with what it takes to turn an original idea into an AI-assisted micro-drama.
MO2 in the Spotlight
MO2 is a generative media platform for creating vertical micro-dramas.
The team will walk through the platform using The Dawn of Olympus: Son of Apollo as a worked example, unpacking what the agent did, what the crew did and how the two came together through the production process.
Then it will be your turn.
🎬 What You'll Do
Get to Know MO2 · 20 min
Explore the platform with the MO2 team and see how an AI-assisted micro-drama moves from story idea to generated output.
Meet Your Crew and Take the Brief
You'll work in crews of five, with one MO2 seat per team.
Each crew will receive a target market such as Vietnam, Thailand or Indonesia. Your challenge is to develop an original micro-drama concept with that audience in mind.
Build · 90 min
Pitch your ideas, choose what to take forward and start making.
You'll develop the premise, characters and key moments before using MO2 to generate a 60–90 second pilot clip.
Along the way, expect a curveball. Your crew may have to adapt what you've made for a different market or viewing constraint before time runs out.
Screen, Compare and Share
We'll end by watching what each crew made.
Rather than looking only for the most polished film, we'll look at three things:
Hook: Does it grab you from the beginning?
Repost: Would someone share it without knowing the rest of the series?
Passport: Does the idea still work when the market or constraint changes?
⚠️ Before You Come
Bring a laptop with internet access and come ready to build with others.
No prior experience with MO2 is required. Filmmakers, storytellers, designers, creative technologists, generative-media builders and anyone curious about making with AI are welcome.
Coming solo? That's fine. Solo participants will be placed into crews on the day.
MO2 will also be used at the Asian AIGC Hackathon at ATF on 3 December. If you're participating, this session is an opportunity to get familiar with the workflow beforehand. You do not need to be an ATF hackathon participant to join.
