City Pop — Side A: Tokyo / Side B: Hong Kong & Taipei is an afternoon of records, drinks and unhurried listening with DJ HAO. It follows the sound of the City Pop from Tokyo to Hong Kong and Taipei, past the genre’s usual boundaries.

Side A: Tokyo is where most of us associate City Pop: Tatsuro Yamashita, Anri, and the breezy, sunlit tunes that have become synonymous with the genre.Side B: Hong Kong & Taipei crosses the water, taking us to Cantopop and Mandopop. While these records might not be categorized as City Pop on paper, they share the same spirit. Each capture the rush, the style and the restless energy of cities shaping their own cultural identity.Between tracks, HAO will tell their stories.
