November 13

basecamp / a welcoming

A Tokyo Salone gathering at WPÜ SHINJUKU

Arrive.Find your people.Begin together.

Before Tokyo Salone opens into a week of conversation, inquiry, and shared experience, we gather at basecamp.

For one evening, the creative communities around semi permanent, teenage engineering, KCRW, WPÜ, and Ü Culture come together with the friends, partners, and curators shaping Tokyo Salone and its constellations.

Meet the people building the rooms. Find familiar faces. Make new connections. Begin conversations that may become friendships, collaborations, or something none of us could have planned.

As the year begins to draw to a close, the constellation comes into focus.

Vibes. Connections. A first table.

The week begins here.

Around the table

For its first gathering in Japan, Copenhagen-born Eat Wasted joins the WPÜ café team to serve collaborative bites created for the evening.

Eat Wasted began around a shared dinner table, turning rescued bread into pasta as a way to bring people together.

What began as one table became many.

At basecamp, that table reaches Tokyo for the first time.

Rescued bread.Shared plates.New possibilities.

Something worth gathering around.

Venue

WPÜ SHINJUKU

WPÜ SHINJUKU is a boutique hotel and cultural hub in the heart of Shinjuku, where people from different places and practices cross paths.

Across its lounge, gallery, café, gathering spaces, and Room 303 Radio, WPÜ offers more than somewhere to stay. It creates ways to encounter the culture and creative energy of Tokyo.

Throughout Tokyo Salone, WPÜ becomes our everyday living room.

Drop in. Meet someone new. Stay a little longer.

Some of the best conversations begin here.

Not simply a hotel.

A place to arrive.

Partnering with Tokyo Salone

Tokyo Salone is built for the long term. Rather than sponsoring a single event, our partners become part of an evolving cultural institution connecting global creative communities with Japan.

If our ambitions align, we’d love to start a conversation.
