Malling Down & Lewes Downs loop via Chapel Hill Hike 🥾⛰️

Join us for a beautiful walk around the hills of Lewes, for some of the best views in the South Downs. Trail: 6.8 miles/10.9 Km should take 2.5-3 hours. The trail is medium difficulty with a couple of hills. You can find the route on Komoot here. What to bring: Snacks (vegan only please), drinks (water not vodka), and a waterproof (because this is the UK). This might be a little muddy and walking boots are ecouraged, though not a necessity... but your brand new vans will get dirty, so wear shoes you don't mind getting a bit messed up. Getting there: Train 🚂 You can get the train to Lewes station and its then a 10 minute walk to Trading Post coffee. Latest train from Brighton is 12:55 getting into Lewes at 13:13. Return trains are every 10-20 mins and the return fare is £6.40 without a railcard. Bus 🚍🚏 The 28 and 29 both go to Lewes. You will need to get off at Waitrose and then its a 5 minute walk down the High Street to Trading Post Coffee. The 28 at 12:30 from Churchill Square should get you to Waitrose for 13:15. Car 🚗 there are multiple car parks in Lewes. The Phoenix Causeway car park is closest, but does get busy at the weekend. Weather 🌧 This is the UK. The weather is at best unpredictable so we will check the day before and post whether this can go ahead. Light rain will not stop us and even if it looks sunny, bring a waterproof.
