You’re invited to an afternoon with Montgomery County Psychedelic Society.

Plant medicines have been held within living cosmologies for countless generations. The Shipibo of the Peruvian Amazon and the Mazatec of Oaxaca each carry a rich understanding of spirit, healing, and the relationship between people and the natural world. In the West, we’ve largely met these medicines through a clinical, therapeutic, and mechanistic lens: protocols, mechanisms, outcomes.

In this talk, we’ll take a deep dive into both Shipibo and Mazatec cosmologies, then turn the question back to ourselves: How do these worldviews resonate with you? What do they offer that the clinical model doesn’t, and what might each learn from the other?
