Get ready to help clean up the Salt River in South Phoenix. It is a great way to get outdoors while helping care for our local watershed. We hold monthly events picking up trash, pulling weeds and planting native vegetation as well as doing trail maintenance on the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area.In October we will host a special event with Luke Ramsey-Wiegmann, an ASU PhD student who is working on identifying beneficial uses for invasive plant biomass after removal projects. He will be teaching us to make paper out of invasive plants that we remove from the Rio, including bullrush, papyrus, and cattail.
